Senior BIM Virtuoso to help Leidos shape the Future of National Security Infrastructure!

Are you ready to design the digital backbone of some of the nation's most critical defense structures? Leidos is on the hunt for a trailblazing Senior BIM Specialist to lead advanced 3D modeling initiatives that support the U.S. Department of Defense in countering weapons of mass destruction and defeating hardened facilities-above and below ground. This isn't just another modeling gig. You'll fuse Revit mastery with cutting-edge tech like AI/ML, digital twins, and simulation platforms to engineer next-gen infrastructure that makes a strategic impact.

Leidos National Security Sector's Mission Solutions Business Area is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BIM Specialist to lead the implementation and use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for above and below ground facilities and equipment to improve U.S. DoD counter WMD and Hardened Facility defeat capabilities.

Key Responsibilities - What you will own: The Senior BIM Specialist will produce detailed 3D Revit models of above and below ground facilities, including their structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and equipment. They will help implement BIM standards, workflows, and protocols to assist with creating and modifying Revit families tailored to project needs, including specialized components. This will be accomplished through driving innovations to existing processes by incorporating such things as Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications, Modeling and Simulation (M&S) tools, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) workflows to increase product fidelity and production efficiency. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with technical subject matter experts and software developers to execute technical vision and strategy, provide technical leadership and guidance, and drive innovation by evaluating and integrating emerging technologies and methodologies into the production workflow.

  • Establish and integrate BIM Standards, protocols, and processes.

  • Create, manage, and coordinate BIM models

  • Mentor junior team members and other disciplined teams (Engineers and Geologists)

  • Perform quality control checks on models for accuracy and compliance

  • Provide advanced technical support and guidance for BIM software and workflows

Required Clearance: Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph for consideration. This requires US Citizenship.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field. Relevant experience is defined as 12+ years in creating or modifying part, assembly, facility, or installation engineering drawings, or a master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience. Additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Must possess advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit software, including family creation, modeling techniques, and data management.

  • Strong understanding of BIM principles, workflows, and standards.

  • Solid knowledge of construction methods and building codes (relevant to undergrounds is big plus)

  • Experience working with a BIM Manager on facility projects and experience in executing BIM Execution Plans

  • Proficiency in BIM Software such as Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM360, etc.

  • Experience with digital twin technologies and 3D modeling and simulation applications.

  • Understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systems.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Certification:

  • Experience with Dynamo for Revit automation and complex geometry generation.

  • Experience with visualization software like Unreal, 3ds Max, or Enscape for high-quality renderings.

  • Experience or understanding of above and below ground facilities.

  • Experience with industrial IoT platforms, SCADA systems, BMS, ICS, PLC.

  • Working knowledge of protective engineering or physical force protection measures.

  • Certificate of Management - Building Information Modeling (CM-BIM).
