About the Role


Ayoroa Simmons is seeking experienced Revit professionals to join our on-site team in Arlington, Virginia. This role will support an ongoing program to modernize building documentation by converting legacy CAD and MicroStation files into a Revit-based BIM environment.


The ideal candidate will have strong architectural or facilities modeling experience, with MEP modeling experience strongly preferred. Candidates who have modeled mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, or building systems in Revit will be especially well suited for this work.


Your contributions will help improve the accuracy, usability, and long-term value of building data used for operations, maintenance, renovations, and capital planning.


Responsibilities


CAD / Revit Modeling

  • Create, update, and maintain 3D Revit models for existing facilities.
  • Convert legacy CAD and MicroStation files into LOD 300+ Revit models.
  • Develop accurate building models using field information, redlines, as-built documentation, and existing record drawings.
  • Integrate LIDAR point clouds and field verification data into Revit workflows.
  • Support modeling of architectural, structural, and facility systems, with emphasis on accurate documentation of building conditions.
  • Assist with MEP-related model development, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and related building systems where applicable.


BIM & Document Management

  • Support Revit template creation, BIM standards, and project-specific modeling workflows.
  • Conduct model QA/QC for accuracy, completeness, naming conventions, and standards compliance.
  • Maintain model metadata, version control, and documentation integrity.
  • Assist with BIM Execution Plan requirements, COBie-related data, and facilities information management.


Collaboration

  • Coordinate with BIM, GIS, engineering, project management, facilities, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to workflow improvements.
  • Communicate model issues, documentation gaps, and field verification needs clearly and proactively.


Records Management

  • Index drawings, models, and related project files into a secure project data repository.
  • Perform file conversions and ensure records are organized, searchable, and compliant with project requirements.
  • Support accurate documentation of existing building conditions for long-term use by client teams.


Service & Reporting

  • Respond to service requests related to models, drawings, and visual deliverables.
  • Prepare model views, exports, and visual documentation to support planning, coordination, and project execution.
  • Assist with internal training and knowledge sharing related to BIM standards, Revit tools, and documentation practices.


Qualifications


Required Experience

  • 3+ years of Revit experience in architecture, engineering, construction, facilities, or a related field.
  • Experience creating and maintaining 3D Revit models.
  • Ability to convert CAD, MicroStation, or legacy drawing files into Revit models.
  • Familiarity with BIM documentation workflows, model organization, and quality control.
  • Ability to work on-site in Arlington, Virginia.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to pass required background screening.


Preferred Experience

  • Experience with MEP modeling in Revit, including one or more of the following disciplines:
  • Mechanical systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Fire protection systems
  • Building systems coordination
  • Facilities or operations-focused BIM documentation
  • Experience working with existing building conditions, as-built documentation, or facility modernization projects.
  • Experience integrating LIDAR point clouds into Revit models.
  • Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans and COBie data requirements.
  • Experience supporting federal, institutional, or large-scale facility portfolios.


Technical Skills

  • Autodesk Revit, including 3D modeling and families.
  • CAD and/or MicroStation file conversion experience (preferred).
  • Bluebeam Revu and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • ArcGIS experience is a plus.
  • Point cloud / reality capture workflow experience is a plus.
