Duties
Help
  • Provides technical advice to staff members in determining courses of action on various
    administrative matters and identification of desirable financial management data and
    analysis appropriate for any given situation.
  • Performs technical review of staff papers submitted to the Director dealing with financial
    and budgetary issues and programs.
  • Serves as a technical expert in reviewing and addressing issues impacting planning,
    implementation, and evaluation of site Accounting mission programs.
  • Monitors and leads projects within the site Accounting Operations network; ensures
    effective and timely accomplishment of such projects; also reviews and recommends
    approval or disapproval of project plans developed by Operating organizations/staff.
  • Coordinates tasks with the supported organizations, other locations and external sources
    as necessary to ensure fully staffed responses, recommendations, and options.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: analyzing financial or budget data to
advise staff and leadership; OR reviewing financial plans, policies, or staff papers for accuracy; OR leading financial projects, tracking milestones, or solving program problems; OR writing reports, briefings, or recommendations to help senior managers make decisions.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Failure to become certified within the required time-frame may be grounds for removal from the position and/or from Federal service.
