Job description

Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will work directly with Project Managers to coordinate, track, and support Retail remodel projects from preconstruction through closeout. The APM will help ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and meet Allbrite's quality and safety expectations. This position requires strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills while working in a fast-paced retail construction environment.


Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with daily management of multiple Retail remodel projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Track project schedules and assist with schedule updates.
  • Prepare and distribute Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, and project files.
  • Assist with procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Track project costs, commitments, invoices, and budget updates.
  • Coordinate project startup and closeout documentation.
  • Communicate with Retail representatives, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Support permitting, inspections, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  • Assist with punch list completion and project turnover.
  • Attend project meetings and prepare meeting notes.
  • Help resolve field issues and coordinate timely solutions.
  • Support company safety initiatives and quality control standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent construction experience).
  • 1–3 years of commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Experience in retail construction is a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or similar construction software is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the San Antonio area and surrounding markets.
