PART TIME CUSTODIAN:

  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the church facilities.

  • Provides custodial and cleaning services as noted below.

  • Responsible for securing spaces during the working shift.

  • Maintain a professional attitude and represent BTC and its vision and values to fellow employees and visitors alike.

  • Dress appropriately and professionally

  • Be responsible, well organized and a detail-oriented self-starter and be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

HOUSEKEEPING DUTIES IN ASSIGNED AREAS

Dusting

  • High dusting
  • Low dusting
  1. Floor Care:

  • Tile
  • Carpet
  1. Sweep daily or upon use and weekly at minimum

  2. Damp mop daily or after each use, weekly minimum

  3. Proper mop and mop bucket care, use and storage

  4. Stripping and waxing annually

  5. Buffing as needed

b. Carpet

  1. Floor prep before vacuuming

  2. Vacuum and conditioning the carpet

  3. Spot and stain removal

  4. Gum and debris removal

  5. Shampoo with Side by Side or Shampooer

  6. Vacuum cleaner maintenance and cleaning

  1. Chemical care

    1. Familiar with location and use of Safety Data Sheets, (SDS)

    2. Familiar with proper use of each chemical

    3. Communicate need for supply

    4. Only use labeled chemicals and always secure in safe place after use.

  1. Glass care

    1. All Mirrors and Windows maintained daily or weekly as per application

    2. Clean Windows inside and out

  1. Trash disposal

    1. Safely remove and deposit trash with in the outdoor 8 yard trash bin

    2. Safely secure the trash and recycle bins after use.

    3. Recycle cardboard only

  1. Bathroom care

    1. Using safety equipment and procedures

    2. Proper chemical use and application for disinfecting and cleaning

    3. Total clean every bathroom every time philosophy

    4. Restocking of paper goods

  1. Classroom and common space care

    1. Using safety equipment and procedures

    2. Proper chemical use and application for disinfecting, dusting and cleaning

    3. When needed electrostatic spray disinfection

    4. Provide room set ups

CUSTODIAL DUTIES

  1. Follow the assigned work schedule

  1. Cart Care

    1. Setup supplies and chemicals according to procedure

    2. Clean up tools, clothes and supplies

    3. Stowage of wet materials for proper drying

    4. Empty store mop buckets after use

  1. Utilize the color code system for cleaning rags and supplies

    1. Blue = glass

    2. Green = common areas

    3. Red = bathroom and contaminated cleaning

    4. Rags and mops rinsed end of shift and deposited for washing

    5. Rags and mops washed in campus washing machine

  1. Will manage access to all spaces during shift,

    1. securing closed areas

    2. opening access for scheduled use

    3. Securing and double checking exterior doors

    4. Activate and deactivate security alarms according to schedule.

  1. Prepare areas for use with set up of tables, chairs, supplies and lighting.

  1. Clean and sanitize areas after use and restore setup.

  1. maintain entry ways, hallways and routes used for access.

  1. Playground

    1. Will provide access during daylight hours and secure lock

    2. Will carefully check playground for dangers when opening

    3. Secures playground at night

    4. Sweep off all debris from surfacing material

    5. Maintenance wash equipment with mild soap and water

    6. Maintains trash throughout the day as needed and when opening.

  1. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to speak and read English clearly. Prior experience required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED).
  • Three years or more experience in Custodian work
  • Able to lift 50lb

Hours: 12- 26 Flexibility to design scheduled hours

Sat and Sun. ;Hours 8:00 - 3:00 or 2:00p.m. - 9:00p.m.

Filling in for other positions when not covered possible additional of 250 hours.
