Job description

LHH is looking for a Litigation Docketing Specialist (Temp role) for a law firm. This is a remote role but the candidate must have California experience and be willing to work west coast hours. There are 3 openings and they would like for the candidates to start ASAP. There is a likelihood of overtime so the candidate needs to be flexible and able to do this, potentially up to 45 hours a week.
Compensation: $30 - $40/hr (DOE + OT)
Location: Fully Remote. Must have California Docketing experience
Temp Duration: 6 months with possibility for direct hire
Team & Reporting
  • Reports to Litigation Docketing Manager
  • Part of a fully remote Litigation Docketing team
  • Growing department; immediate need is to support high-volume workload and get team out of backlog
  • Must be a strong communicator and able to work independently
Role Overview
  • Provide high-volume litigation docketing and calendaring support
  • Independently enter case activity and deadlines into CompuLaw Vision
  • Support attorneys and legal staff with accurate and timely calendaring for federal, state, and agency matters
  • Review court documents, correspondence, and case team requests to calculate and enter deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with all docketing procedures, best practices, and workflows
  • Assist in risk mitigation through accurate calendaring and deadline tracking
Key Responsibilities
  • Enter and maintain deadlines and case information in CompuLaw Vision
  • Calculate deadlines for California state courts (must-have) and federal courts
  • Respond to attorney and staff inquiries regarding court rules and deadlines
  • Conduct jurisdictional research and summarize findings for case teams
  • Create and circulate deadline reports for review and confirmation
  • Perform quality checks and escalate issues to senior docketing staff or manager
  • Stay current on California, federal, and general litigation court rules
  • Work overtime as needed to support heavy workload
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years of litigation docketing experience in a law firm
  • CompuLaw Vision experience - REQUIRED
  • California state court docketing experience - REQUIRED
  • Strong understanding of litigation lifecycle, court rules, and legal terminology
  • Ability to hit the ground running in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong critical thinking and resourcefulness
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with other rules-based calendaring systems (e.g., Milana)
  • Paralegal certificate, college degree, or equivalent experience
  • Strong MS Office proficiency
