Job description

Come be a part of Amazon's dynamic Live Sports Production team. We are looking for an experienced Sr. Manager of Crewing to serve as the centralized crewing authority across all of our live sports properties.
The Production Operations team is responsible for delivering high-quality event and studio productions on all global live sports properties to customers worldwide, across all Prime Video product lines and devices

We drive production excellence through streamlined processes and operational frameworks that empower the team to work more efficiently and grow with increasing demand.
The growing volume and complexity across our properties demands a dedicated Sr. Manager of Crewing.

This role provides the centralized coordination layer to ensure consistency, resolve conflicts, and maintain a unified view of crew availability across the entire Prime Video Live Sports portfolio and with third-party vendors. Our crewing operation is purpose-built around the needs of an expanding, multi-sport live portfolio rather than modeled after a traditional broadcast network structure. We are defining and building as we evolve, and this person must be excited to roll up their sleeves and help establish the systems, relationships, and workflows that will scale with us.
This role requires deep knowledge of remote, event, and studio production crewing, including broadcast positions, industry standard rates, and an established network of relationships across production services

The Sr. Manager of Crewing will work in lockstep with property leads to ensure each event or studio show is properly staffed, communicating proactively with third-party partners to prevent gaps, resolve conflicts in real time, and keep productions on track. This role will also work closely with Amazon's internal legal and labor teams to ensure compliance with all applicable workforce regulations.

The Sr. Manager of Crewing will be responsible for escalating issues that require senior leadership attention, keeping the Global Head of Production Operations informed on matters that carry risk or require resolution. Additionally, this person will partner directly with our Production Service Providers (PSP) to establish best practices, define operational standards for how PSPs engage with our productions, and ensure alignment on processes and expectations across the vendor landscape.
The successful candidate is a self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment

You possess the ability to manage high volumes of tasks and projects quickly with autonomy, react with urgency to situations that demand immediate attention, and have a proven track record of end-to-end ownership in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
Key job responsibilities
Cross-Property Crew Coordination & Visibility: Serve as the centralized coordination point across all live sports properties and studio productions, maintaining real-time visibility into crew availability, deployment, and engagement history to prevent scheduling conflicts. Work in lockstep with property leads to ensure every event and programming block is fully staffed with preferred, best-in-class personnel aligned to creative and editorial vision.
Real-Time Conflict Resolution: Identify and resolve crew conflicts in real time across overlapping productions, proactively scanning the production calendar to flag scheduling gaps and crewing risks well in advance of air. Coordinate with property leads to develop contingency plans and maintain a bench of qualified alternatives.
Rate Structure & Cost Consistency: Maintain organized, transparent rate structures across properties and personnel tiers, partnering with Production Ops and Production Managers leads to ensure alignment and consistency across comparable roles and production formats

Analyze crew spend patterns and maintain market-competitive positioning. Coordinate fee reconciliation and payment processing with third-party vendors across multiple properties to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Serve as a resource for property Production Operations and Production Management leads on market benchmarks and crew compensation norms to support informed planning decisions.
3P Labor & Workforce Compliance: Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party labor questions

Navigate both union and non-union production environments, and ensure third-party PSPs adhere to all applicable labor regulations and collective bargaining agreements. Work closely with Amazon's internal legal and labor teams to stay current on regulatory requirements, labor guidelines, and workforce compliance standards across domestic and international markets. Advise property leads on compliance considerations as they arise, including crew classification, jurisdictional rules, and engagement terms.
Crew Scheduling & Resource Management: Ensure crew and resource scheduling across remote, studio, and third-party vendor operations stays aligned with property needs

Establish clear parameters and consistent frameworks for how personnel are deployed across productions. Recruit, negotiate, and onboard key Above-The-Line (ATL) and Below-The-Line (BTL) positions through PSPs as needed, establishing deal and rate frameworks, and engagement standards that apply uniformly across all properties. Maintain a centralized personnel repository, with the willingness to step in and coordinate travel and deployment logistics as production needs arise.
Systems, Tools & Reporting: Own and leverage internal production management tools to maintain full visibility into all productions and crew assignments, implementing and refining systems that map personnel to events, track availability, and surface conflicts

When needed, prepare and distribute crew communications (call sheets, playbooks, and pertinent production information) to stakeholders, and report on crewing metrics and workforce utilization to senior leadership.
