Job description

KAPULE LLC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to serve as our on-site lead for NAVFAC Far East construction and demolition projects at U.S. Fleet Activities Sasebo (CFAS), Japan.

This is an on-site position based in Sasebo, Japan. Relocating to and residing in Sasebo is required — this is not a remote or hybrid role.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as KAPULE LLC's on-site lead for day-to-day project execution, budget, schedule, and quality on NAVFAC FE projects
  • Manage subcontractor relationships, including submittals, RFIs, invoicing, and schedule coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with NAVFAC FE for progress reporting, site visits, and contract compliance
  • Coordinate with project SSHO and QCM personnel to ensure safety and quality standards are met across all work
  • Track cost performance against project budgets and support monthly progress billing to NAVFAC
  • Navigate base access, security, and installation requirements specific to working on a U.S. Navy installation in Japan
What We're Looking For
  • Prior experience managing federal government (NAVFAC, USACE, or other DoD) construction contracts
  • Working familiarity with FAR/DFARS contract administration
  • Comfortable managing subcontractors and multi-million dollar project budgets
  • Must relocate to and live in Sasebo, Japan — this position is based on-site, not remote
  • Must be eligible to obtain base access to a U.S. Navy installation in Japan (SOFA status a plus, not required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; PMP a plus
  • Japanese language ability is a bonus, not required
