Job description

Position Title: Master Project Development Specialist


Reports to: Project Development Manager


Position Location: Fayetteville, Georgia


Relocation/Sponsorship: NO relocation or sponsorship available with this position

Summary/Objective:

The Master Project Development Specialist position is responsible for working with customers to design and quote projects and then coordinate the project successfully through completion. Once a project is activated, this position also supports Project Managers with project execution and ensures consistently superior service standards in all interactions. This includes acting as a back-up to CRI Project Managers and field personnel while maintaining the highest level of quality with a primary focus on scheduling, and quality performance. The Master Project Development Specialist continually meets project requirements including but not limited to kick-off meetings, deadline management, status reporting, project communication, and coordination with the various teams to ensure all project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the highest quality standards.

The Master Project Development Specialist creates project proposals and quotes, and reviews these with the Project Management team and other related departments to determine accuracy. Once the project is awarded, the Master Project Development Specialist also reviews deliverables with members of the CRI Team regarding proper lead times, job costing, and procedures for accomplishing project. The Master Project Development Specialist also conducts or oversees the purchasing process to ensure all equipment and material is delivered to the project site in a timely manner.

This position is responsible for fostering a team environment, working in cooperation between the project management team members and other departments to provide the highest quality service standards. A critical component of the job is to manage and resolve complex tasks. The Master Project Development Specialist is responsible for representing Cool Runnings International (CRI) to its customers and contracted laborers on virtually any range of subjects related to the project, and for making solid, informational-based decisions on behalf of CRI.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Provide support assistance for CRI Project Managers and team
  • Understand the entire scope of the project including the client objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
  • Assist Project Managers to determine and maintain scheduling of project shipments and deliveries based on established deadlines.
  • Ensure Purchase Orders (PO's) are issued at appropriate times, and track progress of vendor
  • Effectively foster an open environment of positive communication and teamwork within CRI to proactively solve issues and successfully execute the project scope.
  • Collaborate with the management team to evaluate project needs, performance, and to recommend refinements and improvements of the project life cycle.
  • Create, review, and analyze reports on project costs, project scheduling, change orders and progress
  • Work cooperatively in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, budgets, change orders and preliminary schedules.
  • Maintain good field communication with technicians, contractors, vendors, and co-workers to assure timely and efficient completion of jobs, and proper documentation of the entire process.
  • Must have the ability to take on multiple projects with great project coordination skills in a team
  • Prioritize responsibilities, interact and manage schedule, and assist others according to business
  • Provide project reporting and summaries as needed, perform analysis of field reporting, and ensure accuracy and quality assurance.
  • Understand and comply with budget plan and implement cost efficiencies to support cost
  • Participate in developing a schedule for project completion and managing the schedule execution for all aspects of acquisition, shipping and delivery of required material, and equipment for that project.
  • Regularly review the quality of the work as posted in Daily Reports to ensure it meets project
  • Enhance client relationship through proactive and positive communication, and by recognizing and delivering on client key issues and expectations.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve overall operations and effectiveness of projects.

  • Ability to teach others, including training/coaching Jr. Project Development Specialist team members, leading by example and assisting the Project Development Manager in building a quality Project Development Team.

Requirements:

  • Broad knowledge base of the construction trades; 10+ yrs in a field of construction (new and remodel)
  • Proficient-to-Expert in Bluebeam and/or CAD
  • Experiencewith material take-offs
  • Experience in reviewing/approving vendor submittals for manufacture
  • Understanding of front-end/inside sales aspects of projects (administrative tasks)
  • Proficient-to-Expert in Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor's degree in business or construction preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to travel and maintain an in-office work schedule that that is primarily days, but could include nights/weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for international travel and work
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve quality results

  • Computer proficient (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet)

This position works in a typical office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasionally, the employee may have to lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs. Vision requirements include close, color and peripheral vision.
