Job description

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of 2-commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire an viEval Systems Analyst. Reporting to the Senior Manager of HR Systems and Analytics, the HR Systems Analyst coordinates and manages the Firm's human resource information systems to ensure end user productivity and efficiency.

The viEval Systems Analyst analyzes the business needs of the Human Resources function and provides recommendations for the use of technology in supporting those needs (from the suite of firm applications). Activities include responsibility in the following areas: human resource systems analysis and related activities, system configuration, administration, report development, process re-engineering, testing and training. This role serves as a liaison between the Firm Information Technology department and the enduser (HR) community.

This position can sit in most U.S. offices with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

This is a temporary opportunity, with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role.

Key responsibilities include:

Business Needs Support/Process Re-engineering

  • Consults with Firm HR department teams to evaluate their needs and to provide technology solutions.

  • Analyzes the business needs of the department and recommends appropriate applications to support those needs.

  • Conducts workflow analysis.

  • Identifies, recommends, and implements innovative business system processes and procedures to improve efficiency considering system capabilities, system capacity and limitation, operating time, and desired results.

  • Makes "best practice" recommendations to ensure optimal use based on knowledge of firm processes and technology.

  • Conducts process design and gap analysis, functional system design and system configuration.

  • Provides overall project management for select HRIS initiatives.

System Analysis/Management

  • Plans and manages the configuration of performance evaluation (databases); administers and supports the performance evaluation application for attorneys and legal staff (viEval).

  • Evaluates system functionality versus business needs; recommends and implements application solutions or alternate methods to meet business requirements.

  • Teams with Information Technology to develop and implement new or enhanced technology (e.g., interfaces, outsourced vendor arrangements, system integration) and manages service and support.

  • Prepares test plans/scripts; executes test scripts; oversees and supports user acceptance testing and training.

  • Develops user procedures, guidelines, and documentation.

  • Assists with software implementation and upgrades as necessary.

System Support

  • Provides support for HR performance management system (viEval) including, but not limited to, researching and resolving application issues, unexpected results or process flaws.

  • Coordinates with Firm IT to resolve application issues.

  • Assists end-users and clients on technology related issues.

  • Serves as Performance Management (viEval) System Administrator and provides end user support and training.

Administration/Report Development

  • Administers and supports the evaluation application.

  • Designs and delivers complex ad-hoc reports with available tools (viEval) using advanced query techniques; provides analysis and interpretation of report data as required.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience of related HRIS and viEval experience in a professional services industry.

  • Aderant viDesktop or viEval is required.

  • Workday HCM is preferred.

  • SQL, MS-Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel), iManage, Adobe Reader, Visio and MS-Project

  • This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills (including grammar and punctuation), as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • The successful candidate will possess effective problem solving and time management skills, ability to multitask, independent decision-making, discretion, and judgment.

  • Self-motivated with a focus on driving results and strong sense of accountability.

  • Proven record of setting delivery commitments and meeting expectations.

  • Ability to critically think and have an analytical mindset with a strong ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.

  • Ability to manage multiple, high priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as on a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and learn new systems and processes through instruction, guided training, and self-training.

For positions in New York, NY, and San Francisco, CA, the salary range for this job posting is: $91,500.00- $146,325.00

For positions in Chicago the salary range for this job posting is: $80,500.00- $128,800.00

For positions in Los Angeles, CA, Century City, CA, and Orange County, CA, the salary range for this job posting is: $87,800- $140,450.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
