At Atlas Copco, we don't just value the work you do; we value who you are. We're a global technology leader with a 150-year legacy, aiming to make a positive impact on industries and communities around the world. Our commitment to sustainability and innovation keeps us moving forward, and we're looking for dynamic individuals who want to be part of that journey.

Who Thrives Here?

At Atlas Copco, success comes from those who are curious, innovative, and committed to excellence. If you enjoy working in a dynamic environment and thrive on problem-solving, you'll feel at home here. This role is ideal for someone who delivers accurate, timely results while managing multiple priorities, focuses on detail, uses data to drive decisions, and faces challenges with creativity and resilience.

Are you our next Optimization Engineer?

Reporting directly to the Optimization Services Manager, this role will be instrumental in providing valuable fastening technical resources, promoting Atlas Copco products and services, and strengthening our customer relationships and perceived value.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

Collaborate with Data Driven Services team members to accelerate Alture connectivity with new and existing customers and contribute as an active member of the SCE BL and broader ACTA teams.

Foster strong working relationships with MVI and GIN colleagues built on trust, collaboration, and shared success.

Perform on-site bolted joint optimization at customer manufacturing facilities to improve joint quality and integrity, reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework, and enhance tool ergonomics and operator efficiency.

Conduct bolted joint analysis in the Auburn Hills fastening lab, including torque-to-failure testing, ultrasonic bolt load testing, incorrect assembly identification, and automation feasibility studies.

Develop presentations, reports, and training materials to communicate findings and support Atlas Copco product-based Master Class training programs.

Teach fastening-related technical concepts, coach customers on proper application, and facilitate meetings to diagnose fastening challenges and define solution scopes.

Lead or support customer-facing Data Driven Services optimization meetings and manage laboratory projects from planning through execution, analysis, reporting, and completion.

Build strong customer relationships, ensure customers maximize value from Atlas Copco products and services, and identify opportunities to expand solutions.

Support commercial growth by identifying upsell opportunities and motivating MVI and GIN sales teams to promote optimization solutions.

To succeed, you will need
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical or management discipline
  • Thorough understanding of motor vehicle and general industry manufacturing, with focus on assembly processes and optimization
  • Expert level presentation skills with preferred high comfort level in front of a camera while producing video training content
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, and lead both customers and peers.
  • Regular travel as needed for customer visits and sales engagement (estimated up to 40%)
In return, we offer
  • At Atlas Copco, we know that work is more than just a job. Here's what we offer to keep you happy, healthy, and inspired:

    • Professional Development: Opportunities for growth, training, and career advancement.
    • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, and more.

    • Work-Life Balance: Generous paid time off, a comprehensive holiday package, and flexible scheduling options where available to support your well-being.
    • Family Support: Paid Maternity & Parental Leave.
    • Wellness Perks: Gym, Education, and Health Reimbursements.
    • Rewarding Culture: An inclusive environment that celebrates innovation, teamwork, and diversity.
