In this role, you will oversee and coordinate daily laboratory operations, supervise staff and ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are followed. You will also oversee the collection analysis, and interpretation of lab results and manage the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Maintains the R&D Lab in a clean, organized, and compliant state, ensuring alignment with company standards
  • Oversees scheduling, manages supplies and chemical inventory, and handles retains, waste identification, and disposal. Coordinates preventative maintenance, calibration, and verification of all laboratory equipment
  • Trains new team members in all aspects of established test methods, instrumentation, equipment, and data integrity, and ensures training records are documented and maintained
  • Assists the Product Development team with certification related tasks such as preparation and pre-testing of UL material specimens
  • Develops and documents new test methods and standard operating procedures, and proactively works to update existing procedures test method improvements are made, or clarifications add value
  • Assigns employee tasks and provides work direction and feedback, may participate in performance reviews, new hire interviewing, disciplinary actions

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional related work experience and
  • 0-1 year in a supervisory role
  • Bachelor's in Chemistry or related field is required
  • Demonstrated ability to use excellent customer service skills to manage difficult or emotional customer situations
  • Track record of responding promptly to customer needs while soliciting customer feedback to improve service
  • Excellent technical skills and continuously pursues training and development opportunities
  • Observes safety and security procedures to identify and report on potentially unsafe conditions
  • Excellent track record of using equipment and materials properly and making improvement suggestions
