Job description

SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, the Regional Manager ensures that Motion Industries complies with and maintains its operations within the specific ISO standards at the corporate and division levels focusing on quality and engineering. This position oversees the QMS, quality policy, KPI's and environmental requirements within the division. This position impacts the business by enhancing and supporting the overall ISO standards, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by maintaining and continuously improving environmental initiatives, quality management system, and engineering principles.
JOB DUTIES
  • Ensures adherence to ISO specific standards (45001, 14001 & 9001) throughout the organization by conducting regular audits and assessments and acts as the ISO champion for the overall division.
  • Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality, and engineering documentation. The manager supports the development and control of procedures, work instructions, and drawings within the division.
  • Provides training and guidance to employees on quality and engineering principles, procedures, and compliance requirements to support the business vision. Supports the creation and implementation of product test and standard operating procedures throughout the division while sharing best practices throughout the business.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains across the specific division through data analysis from internal and external feedback.
  • Investigates and resolves non-conformities, deviations, and customer complaints in a timely manner, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  • Assesses and mitigates quality-related risks by identifying potential hazards, implementing risk control measures, and monitoring risk indicators around quality and engineering.
  • Plans and executes internal and external audits to maintain/improve ISO processes and procedures.
  • Collaborates with teams from different departments to resolve quality and engineering issues. The manager provides quality support for day-to- day operational activities, to improve processes, product performance and procedures to eliminate or reduce defects' causes.
  • Prepares reports and metrics on site specific and quality KPI's and trends to drive continuous improvement across the division.
  • Keeps up-to-date with current and developing manufacturing/engineering/ISO trends concerning environmental and product quality.
  • Performs efficient/effective routine and non-routine quality and engineering inspections for product process acceptability.
  • The manager supports and leads cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements. (PPAP & APQP)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination within Quality or Engineering.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Proficient with tools like 6S, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, FMEA's, Measurement System Analysis, and other Continuous Improvement (CI) tools.
  • Technical background preferred with a focus on quality engineering.
  • A solid background in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and data-based analytics to find solutions to problems is preferred. FMEA, PPAP, Lean Six Sigma, 5-Whys or experience with other RCA tools is helpful.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Basic project management skills, including time management, developing plans, taking initiative, and meeting deadlines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must possess a mindset focused on the principles of Continuous Improvement.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships among a wide variety of employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize and be responsive to requests.
  • Ability to work in an effective manner, either independently or as part of a team. Reliable, organized, energetic self-starter, with attention to detail and dedication to produce high quality work.
  • Strong ethical standards and a high level of integrity.
  • Domestic and international travel up to 25% of time.
