Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a homebased QC lab and provides overall QC leadership support for a designated region for multiple labs.
  • Supports the corporate initiatives for QC improvement and overall operations improvement to produce high quality products in an efficient manner.
  • Assure all plants are audit- and inspection- ready at all times.
  • Identify and lead Process Improvement initiatives within the assigned region.
  • Develop a rapport with Plant, QA manager, along with R&D personnel. Coordinate QA efforts with R&D and vice versa
  • Work with R&D to ensure that manufacturing and raw material specifications exist and are current and enforced.
  • Develop and maintain a specific QA/QC SOP manual for each plant in the assigned region.
  • Perform process improvement assessments on selected locations (Known as Quality Improvement Program QIP)
  • Troubleshoot problems associated with finished product production in assigned facilities; investigate root cause, develop and implement corrective actions, and prevent reoccurrence through the development of long-term solutions.
  • Install appropriate controls, sample plans, hold/release system modifications, code rotation, batching and processing controls, and other production systems where problems might exist.
  • Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations.
  • One must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans and prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans. Must understand people and be able to communicate effectively. Ability to do simple math calculations, input data into a computer and analyze data is required.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities (continued):

  • Proficient knowledge of work instructions, procedures, and calibration of QC instrumentation referenced in the LATICRETE Quality Control Manual.
  • Ensures all business processes for recording lab testing results are efficient and up to date across plants.
  • Leads the implementation of (G)ood (L)aboratory (P)ractices across plants along with 5S methods for laboratory organization, and leads training of QC personnel across plants.
  • Lead the training of department personnel in Quality Control procedures and updating QC procedures as needed.
  • Ensure all CoA's, MSDS, Calibration/Verification, meet ISO 9001 traceability across plants.
  • Has a strong technical knowledge of chemistry in the following area(s): cementitious chemistry, epoxy liquids, latex, and/or any LATICRETE product lines.
  • Has the ability to provide improvements for QC lab workflow, testing, and other QC related activities.
  • Have expert knowledge of all QC procedures and possess the ability to perform tests as needed.

Nonessential Job Functions:

Performs other directly related appropriate duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.

Job Specifications/Skills:

  • 10 years QC laboratory experience preferred.
  • 5 - 10 years supervisory/Leadership experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Advanced computer/technical skills, including experience with Access,
    ACT, Excel and Word. ERP software a plus.
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Good verbal, written, and math skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skill.
  • Capable of participating in Quality Control and Environmental Safety Organizations.
  • Physical ability to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Organized and meticulous.
  • Must be a leader.
  • Ability to work independently

  • Excellent communication / presentation skills

Minimum Educational Requirements:
