Job description

ReLogic Research, Inc. is seeking a self-starting, highly motivated Aerothermal Engineer to provide aerodynamic, aerothermal, and other design and analysis services to assist in developing high speed missile and aviation technology. ReLogic's central focus is to continually promote a culture that stimulates personal, professional, and intellectual growth, while developing elegant solutions to tough problems. We encourage teammates to be self-governing based on high standards of professionalism and judgement. This full-time role will be in direct support of ReLogic's efforts to solve priority problems highly aligned with our national defense strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with team members, technical managers, and subject matter experts to develop analysis skills relevant to speed missile and aviation technology development
  • Conduct aerothermal analysis relating to hypersonic and high-speed vehicle design
  • Utilize test data and modeling and simulation tools to predict and measure high temperature material physics such as recession, char, and pyrolysis gases effects
  • Generate aerothermal loads database for structural design and use modeling and simulation tools to perform thermo-structural analysis
  • Apply aerothermal engineering best practices to existing applications and new developments including test-driven development activities
  • Develop written reports, briefings, and other documentation to present internally and to customer POCs

Requirements & Desired Skills

  • Strong interest in analysis (80% of time)
  • Active Secret security clearance or ability to receive and maintain clearance
  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (MS desired)
  • 0-10 years of general experience in aerothermal analysis (3+ desired)
  • Ability to travel both domestic and international
  • Experience with transient thermal analysis in Thermal Desktop, ANSYS, or Abaqus (Experience with AeroTPS, CMA, and ATAC desired)
  • Experience with maintaining multiple meshes (CFD, thermal, structural) and mapping data between meshes is desired

This is full-time salaried position with full benefits offered. Approximately 10% of travel is expected.
