Project Manager - Industrial Construction
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead industrial and construction projects from planning through closeout. The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules, budgets, and safety, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards. Familiarity with rigging, millwright activities, structural steel, cranes, and mechanical piping is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution for industrial and construction projects, ensuring scope, budget, and timeline alignment.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, craftspeople (including millwrights and rigging crews), and internal teams to maintain productive workflows.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls; track expenditures and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Oversee procurement and materials management for structural steel, mechanical piping, crane services, and other project-critical items.
  • Manage health, safety, and environmental compliance onsite; conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Facilitate communication between owners, engineers, contractors, and inspectors; prepare and present regular progress updates and project documentation.
  • Resolve technical and operational issues quickly and effectively, leveraging knowledge of rigging, mills, structural steel erection, crane operations, and mechanical piping systems.
  • Lead project closeout activities including commissioning support, punch lists, warranty documentation, and lessons-learned reviews.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in industrial construction, fabrication, or similar heavy industrial settings.
  • Demonstrated experience with rigging, millwright tasks, structural steel erection, crane operations, and mechanical piping systems.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and subcontractor performance on mid-to-large scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety standards (e.g., OSHA) and best practices for industrial sites.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore) and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CCM, or OSHA 30 are a plus; crane and rigging certifications or millwright credentials are beneficial.
