Tallgrass Integrated Logistics Solutions (ILS) is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Contracts Manager to lead and drive the success of contracts for a multi-billion dollar energy infrastructure project. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of contract management, negotiation, and compliance within the energy sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the project's success by managing contracts efficiently, mitigating risks, and effectively managing stakeholders. This role would be a primary leadership role in the ILS Project Team.
Responsibilities
Project Contracts Manager Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all aspects of project services contracts, ensuring they meet schedule, commercial, and contractual requirements, and be the primary relationship owner for major contracts key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement contract management plans, strategies, and procedures for executing large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
  • Utilize procurement tools and systems to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with various departments and cross-functional teams to provide procurement services and support organizational goals.
  • Ensure the application of Procurement Policies and Procedures to maintain an efficient, professional, and compliant
  • Report administratively to the Procurement organization, but functionally and daily to the Senior Manager - Project Contracts.
  • Develop, understand, execute, and actively manage contracts for the ILS Projects, functioning as the primary stakeholder manager and controller of contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met for both Tallgrass and the supplier / contractor.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings/efficiency and develop/prioritize contract management initiatives.
  • Develop and implement contract strategies that align with the project's goals and objectives.
  • Negotiate contract terms, conditions, and pricing with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, addressing any issues or disputes that arise.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, engineering, and project management teams to ensure seamless contract execution.
  • Provide guidance and support to the ILS Project Management Team throughout project development and execution.
  • Conduct regular contract reviews and audits to ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts and propose solutions to minimize impact.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records and documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with Management on ILS projects, goals, and objectives, including weekly and monthly project reporting.
  • Lead complex negotiations or provide guidance and assistance with agreement and service provider relationships to ensure the company's best interests are achieved.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit in managing compliance with Tallgrass policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and report key functional metrics for cost analysis, process review and benchmarking.
  • Engage with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely (verbal and written) in person, by telephone, and in email and actively listen.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
  • May be required to work non-traditional hours as needed, and travel domestically and internationally to participate in key meetings and manage stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Law, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Technical background highly desired but not required.
  • A minimum of 10+ years' direct work experience in Procurement may be considered as a substitute for a degree.

Experience/Specific Knowledge:
  • A minimum of ten (10) years' active and direct work experience, the majority of which should be in Procurement and / or Contract Management.
  • Extensive experience in Contract Management, particularly in large-scale energy infrastructure, oil and gas, LNG, or other complex projects.
  • Experience in preparing and negotiating a wide variety of complex service contracts including Major Construction Agreements.
  • Familiarity with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) contractual terms and intent.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract law, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Required travel 25%.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
