We are seeking a remote Field Project Manager who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned field projects from initiation through completion. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and field teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Field Project Manager drives financial performance, maintains schedule and SLA adherence, ensures timely invoicing, and promotes customer satisfaction, while proactively identifying and communicating potential sales opportunities to the Sales team. Responsibilities

  • Ensure all field personnel consistently follow established safety practices and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Confirm that all in-house employees and subcontractors fully understand job specifications, scope, and customer expectations, ensuring work is completed accordingly.
  • Develop, coordinate, and assign daily and weekly work activities to drive timely progress and successful project completion.
  • Monitor field work quality and compliance to ensure alignment with job specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by attending customer meetings and providing regular status updates as required.
  • Oversee and manage all fielding and permitting requirements to ensure regulatory and project compliance.
  • Participate in scheduled conference calls to document, track, and resolve quality issues; escalate concerns as necessary to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Meet regularly with key internal personnel to ensure effective two-way communication and alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and implement corrective actions related to project performance or personnel issues to meet cost targets, schedules, and customer expectations.
  • Hire, manage, and onboard in-house employees and subcontractors as required by project workload.
  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and establish goals that promote continuous development and high performance.
  • Coach, train, and develop direct reports; review, approve, and submit weekly timesheets.
  • Promote and represent the company image by exercising sound, ethical business practices with employees, customers, and the public, ensuring service quality meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as part of a utility, construction, or field-based project management team.
  • Experience managing field and office resources for permitting activities and design data collection.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Visio.
  • Prior experience using project management software and related workflow tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Katapult, including project setup, workflow management, route mapping, and pole data collection.
  • Advanced proficiency in KMZ creation and editing; basic working knowledge of ArcGIS.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber, coax, and pole terminology, including design concepts and related installation practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, fiber route maps, and engineering prints, with a basic understanding of make-ready requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects in alignment with defined scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Proven experience managing a field production team, including setting performance goals to improve efficiency and increase gross profit (GP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including conducting research into project-related issues and developing solutions to ensure project success.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and people skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Highly responsible, resourceful, accurate, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to positively influence others, collaborate effectively, communicate across all levels, actively listen, and understand workplace dynamics.

Preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in engineering design or management roles within an industrial or construction environment, preferably in a related industry.
  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).

The shift is full-time Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST. Must be flexible, and willing to work outside normal business hours as necessary.

Additional Information

  • Travel up to 25% for this position is required.
