Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Project Manager for Power Generation at SpaceXAI, you will own the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale power generation projects that support SpaceXAI's rapidly expanding AI infrastructure. You will lead the development of power plants, substations, generation assets, and grid interconnection projects to ensure reliable, high-capacity power supply for our next-generation data centers. Working cross-functionally with engineering, construction, procurement, and energy teams, you will drive projects from concept through commissioning in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead full lifecycle project management for power generation initiatives, including gas turbines, reciprocating engines, renewables integration, and substation projects
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
  • Manage project risks, issues, and change orders while ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Coordinate with utility companies, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders for permitting and grid interconnection
  • Track project progress, KPIs, and financial performance with clear reporting to leadership
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams on technical specifications and design reviews
  • Drive procurement strategy and vendor/contractor management
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of project management experience in power generation, energy infrastructure, or large industrial projects
  • Proven track record delivering complex, multi-million dollar energy projects on schedule and within budget
  • Strong working knowledge of power generation technologies (gas, diesel, renewables) and electrical infrastructure
  • Experience with project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Background in data center power systems or hyperscale energy projects
  • Professional certifications (PMP, PE, or equivalent)
  • Experience with utility-scale generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or high-voltage substations
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments, permitting processes, and grid compliance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work onsite in Memphis, TN / Southaven, MS area
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence across teams
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, rapidly scaling organization with aggressive timelines
