Power Generation Project Manager PMO

Role Overview

The Power Generation Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all phases of a Mitsubishi project including conceptual, commercial, negotiations, planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, performance testing, initial operations, and prime contract close-out stages. The PGPM is responsible for costs, managing budgets, project schedules, performance, reports on progress, and assuring that teams will hit project goals and objectives. The PGPM contributes input and participates in PMO development efforts that align with delivering projects that are executed within the scope of contract requirements and Mitsubishi performance expectations.ย 

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Serve as the internal and external focal point for project delivery, accountability, client satisfaction and management of project related activities
  • Provides strategic support or sales negotiations, proposal development, estimations, and proposal submissions.
  • Lead investigations and root cause analysis activities for project issues, deliverable challenges, identifying and recommending corrective actions.
  • Track and maintain reports around deliverables, create contingency plans and collaborate with project resources on recovery plans as necessary.
  • Monitor, report and maintain project financials in accordance with budget profitability guidelines.
  • Analyze performance measures and create reports on costs with analysis on project financials.
  • Handle and manage all change requests including the submission of change order requests for appropriate review and approvals.
  • Review and provide oversight on vendor subcontractor invoices, negotiate terms, and validate that the project adheres to payment of fee guidelines and protocols.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Engineering, Business, Information Technology
  • 5+ years of previous experience with leading power generation projects in gas/steam turbines, controls, auxiliaries and tuning solutions.
  • Experience developing project schedules identifying critical paths necessary to successfully implement power generation projects.
  • Ability to support to sales and commercial operations, both internally and externally.
  • Previous experience managing large project budgets (Fixed or Variable) and lowering costs to maximize project profitability.
  • Strong experience managing vendor contracts, payments, handling project compliance and implementing strategies to efficiently execute on project deliverables.
  • Deep understanding of performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency of project delivery.
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to drive strategic insights and inform high-level decision-making for project success.
  • Experience with using solutions such as MS Project, Primavera P6 or equivalent solution.
  • PMP Certification is preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
