The Opportunity

Prestige Hotels & Resorts is seeking an experienced, hands-on hospitality leader to join the team as General Manager of the Prestige Beach House Kelowna.

Located directly across from City Park and Okanagan Lake and just steps from downtown Kelowna, the Prestige Beach House is a 67-room boutique-style hotel within the WorldHotels Crafted Collection. The property serves both leisure and business travellers and includes a full-service restaurant and bar, meeting and event space, indoor pool and hot tub, fitness centre, and a variety of guest amenities.

The General Manager will have overall responsibility for the performance and day-to-day operation of the hotel, leading the team across rooms, guest experience, food and beverage, events, sales, revenue performance, staffing, financial management, and property standards.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance strong hospitality with commercial and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

The General Manager will be responsible for:

  • Providing overall leadership and operational direction for the property
  • Leading, coaching, and developing department leaders and frontline teams
  • Overseeing front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, meetings and events, maintenance, and guest services
  • Creating a positive, accountable, and service-focused workplace culture
  • Ensuring an exceptional guest experience and maintaining WorldHotels and Prestige operating standards
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting, labour, operating costs, and overall property financial performance
  • Monitoring occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, profitability, and other key hotel performance metrics
  • Working closely with sales and revenue teams to maximize leisure, corporate, group, and event business
  • Supporting the hotel's meetings and events operation, including corporate functions, private events, banquets, and weddings
  • Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance management, and workforce planning
  • Working closely with the onsite food and beverage operation to support service standards, revenue growth, and profitability
  • Ensuring the property is well maintained and preventative maintenance and capital priorities are effectively managed
  • Building strong relationships with guests, employees, corporate leadership, vendors, and the local Kelowna community
  • Identifying opportunities to improve revenue, efficiency, guest satisfaction, and overall hotel performance

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Previous General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Hotel Manager, Director of Operations, or comparable senior hotel leadership experience
  • Broad experience across multiple areas of hotel operations
  • Strong people leadership and team-development capabilities
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, labour, costs, and property-level performance
  • Strong understanding of hotel revenue management, including occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR
  • Experience within a full-service or boutique hotel environment
  • Exposure to food and beverage operations
  • Experience with meetings, events, banquets, or group business considered a strong asset
  • Strong guest-service and relationship-management skills
  • A hands-on, solutions-oriented leadership style
  • The ability to balance day-to-day operational involvement with strategic and financial leadership
  • Experience working within branded hotel standards considered an asset
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada

Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business Management, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
