Job Overview

We are seeking an experiencedย Program Managerย to provide oversight and support. Reporting to the IT Assistant Deputy Commissioner, this role collaborates with software vendors, service providers, OIT teams, and DAS staff to manage projects and IT changes of varying scale, ensuring alignment with Statements of Work (SOWs), vendor contracts, and steering committee directives. The position focuses on efficient project execution to enhance DAS productivity and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate tasks for small, medium, and large-scale projects of moderate to high complexity and risk under general supervision.

  • Oversee project management consultation across all phases of the project and software development life cycle (SDLC).

  • Collaborate with OIT teams, DAS business leads, vendors, business analysts, and subject matter experts for system support.

  • Assist in identifying effective strategies during project initiation and develop tools for scope, risk, communication, change control, and performance tracking in the planning phase.

  • Monitor project performance, report on status, milestones, and risks to leadership, and provide guidance to project teams.

  • Lead status meetings, evaluate scope changes, and advise sponsors on actions; conduct product verification and lessons learned reviews at project close.

  • Oversee project costs, schedules, resources, scope, issues, and risks; prepare estimates, plans, and budgets.

  • Facilitate process assessments, redesign efforts, and kickoff meetings to define roles, responsibilities, and expectations.

  • Track milestones, mitigate risks, evaluate variances, and ensure projects stay within scope, budget, and quality parameters.

  • Build relationships with sponsors, vendors, and stakeholders; offer feedback to improve team and project performance.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or specialized training, plus 7 years of IT project management experience.

  • PMP certification from PMI or equivalent (must be active and uploaded).

  • 7 years of experience leading projects of moderate to high complexity.

  • Hands-on experience with MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint 2013, and MS Office 365.

  • 5 years of communication skills (verbal and written).

  • 4 years of experience with Microsoft Office, MS Project, presentation skills, project management, SharePoint, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience within the last 5 years leading/coordinating vendor-managed projects.

  • Experience working in public sector IT or outsourced environments.

  • Executive-level written and oral communication skills.
