The Emerging Capabilities portfolio in the Connected Battlespace Emerging Capabilities (CBEC) business has an immediate need for a Senior Manager, Program manager (PM) to support our growing portfolio.

This individually contributing Program Manager will lead Research & Development programs, both internally and externally funded developing and incubating emerging technologies for Department of Defense (DoD) customers, Consortiums, and the strategic business units (SBU) within Collins Aerospace.

The PM will also lead and organize pursuit and proposal efforts to capture new programs within the science and technology (S&T) community, to include the DoD and other agencies.

The PM will interface with a cross-functional team of other PMs, business development, strategy, and engineering personnel to create and maintain technology development roadmaps and transition plans for new technologies and capabilities to business units across Collins SBUs.

This role will fuel future business growth aligned to both Advanced Aerospace Technologies as well as multiple DoD Critical Technology Areas (CTA).

This is an onsite position in Cedar Rapids, IA.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead and manage multiple external program efforts & internally funded technology efforts simultaneously
  • Lead cross functional teams across local and remote locations and time zones
  • Assist Advanced Technology team members with pursuit and execution support across all Critical Technology Areas (CTA)
  • Direct and lead the business strategy and vision for the Cross-Cutting Technology (Aerospace Systems Technology) technology area, coordinating development efforts across several program management teams (PMT) in this area
  • Defining and recommending the prioritization of externally funded pursuits and IRAD funded efforts, while working collaboratively with business development (BD) and engineering
  • Lead and be accountable for Pursuit, Order, Capture activities as part of growing the business, leveraging business development and engineering partners
  • Accountable for the initial completion and annual updates of key organizational activities such as Strategic Segment Workshops (i.e. OVR) with the strategy team and roadmapping activities with the roadmap subject matter expert(s) across the Collins SBUs (as applicable)
  • Responsible for meeting contractual commitments including financial, technical, and schedule performance of assigned programs
  • Actively involved with Strategic Financial Planning (SFP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) processes for associated CTAs
  • Perform regular program EACs, PMRs and IRAD reviews with an ability to brief senior leadership
  • Travel up to 20% of the time
QualificationsYou Must Have:
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Demostrated experience managing and executing complex projects or programs, including responsibility for cost, schedule, technical performance, and delivery commitments
  • Experience leading cross-functional program teams across disciplines such as engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, contracts, and quality to achieve program objectives
  • Experience serving as a customer-facing program leader and communicating program performance, risks, priorities, or recommendations to customers and senior leadership
  • Experience applying Earned Value Management Systems, or EVMS, and risk and opportunity management practices to monitor and manage program performance
We Prefer:
  • Experience managing customer-facing programs or product lines within the aerospace and defense industry
  • Experience supporting U.S. military acquisition programs, including acquisitions conducted under FAR Part 12
  • Experience identifying, pursuing, or capturing customer-funded development opportunities that support product or business growth strategies
  • Experience communicating complex program information and recommendations to customers, cross-functional teams, and senior leadership
  • Experience making program decisions and developing recommendations in situations involving incomplete or evolving information
  • Experience leveraging technologies, capabilities, or resources across multiple business units, organizations, or industry partners to support program objectives

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
