As the Regional Manager (RM), you will play a critical role in leading and ensuring the success of all locations within your assigned territory. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on leadership to achieve strong business results with you being accountable for driving sales performance, strengthening operational execution, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring each location delivers an exceptional customer experience.


The core accountabilities that follow establish the performance expectations and leadership responsibilities for this position.


Core Accountabilities:


1. Sales & Revenue Growth

Achieve regional sales targets, margin goals, and profitability objectives.

Ensure consistent execution of the companys sales process across all branches.

Coach and develop Branch Managers, sales counter staff, and sales representatives to deliver on company and branch goals.

Identify market opportunities and support local business development initiatives.

Promote and support Sinclair and vendor marketing programs.

Visit customers to develop relationships and assess customer needs.

Develop sales action plans with Branch Managers for each location to increase revenue and identify opportunities for margin improvement.

Understand and develop potential pricing strategies for market while ensuring pricing procedures and controls are in place.


2. Operational Excellence

Ensure all locations adhere to company SOPs, operational standards, and best practices.

Oversee inventory accuracy, warehouse processes, order fulfillment, and delivery performance.

Identify operational gaps and implement improvements to eliminate gaps and improve efficiency and consistency.

Conduct regular branch visits to audit performance and ensure operational and safety policy compliance.

Continuously monitor staffing requirements for region and communicating regularly with HR to fill resourcing gaps.


3. Financial Management

Manage the P&L for the region, including sales, margin, operating expenses, and cost controls.

Monitor and analyze KPIs such as sales, margin, inventory turns, and productivity.

Support branches with accurate forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.

Drive accountability for both revenue and margin growth as well as expense management.


4. Talent Leadership & Development

Recruit, onboard, and develop Branch Managers, and key frontline staff.

Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action when required.


Build a high-performance culture that promotes accountability, engagement, and teamwork.

Support succession planning and leadership development for the region.

Ensure Branch Managers and their teams consistently complete product training to build technical proficiency.


5. Customer Experience & Retention

Ensure each location delivers a consistent, high-quality customer experience.

Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented and issues resolved.

Promote customer-first behaviors and reinforce service standards across the region.


6. Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure all locations comply with safety protocols, HR policies, and legal requirements.

Conduct regular audits related to operations, inventory, financial controls, and safety.

Maintain safety reporting disciplines in accordance with Provincial standards, hold Branch Managers accountable for reporting all Safety and near-miss incidents.

Mitigate operational risks through training, process enforcement, and follow-up.


7. Strategic Execution

Translate company strategy and new initiatives into clear regional action plans.

Lead adoption of new systems (ERP, CRM, BI tools) and ensure full utilization.

Support new market initiatives, product introductions, and growth programs.

Communicate strategic priorities clearly and ensure consistent execution.


8. Communication & Reporting

Maintain open, consistent communication between frontline teams and senior leadership.

Provide conflict resolution guidance to employees.

Provide timely reporting on regional performance, opportunities, and challenges.

Facilitate effective branch visits, review meetings, and leadership touchpoints.


9. Continuous Improvement

Analyze performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.

Lead improvement projects that increase sales, reduce costs, or improve customer experience.

Encourage innovation and feedback from teams to improve business processes.


Experience and Skill Requirements:

Post-secondary education, degree, diploma or technical designation required.

5+ years management experience in wholesale/distribution.

Management experience in HVAC(R) industry a benefit.

Experience managing multiple branches.

Valid driver's license and driver's abstract required.

Travel requirement - approximately 35%.
