Omni Viking Lakes Hotel
A substantial part of the 200-acre Viking Lakes mixed-use development, this destination is home to the Minnesota Vikings headquarters, Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center and TCO Stadium. The location is easily accessible from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Mall of America and airport, with additional uses for the planned development to include corporate offices, retail, restaurants and entertainment.
The 320-room luxury hotel features more than 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and pre-function space, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom, a 4,410-square-foot event center and six two-story hospitality lounges for groups and meeting planners to utilize. From small board meetings, conferences and large galas or special events to Sunday football tailgates and more, the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel accommodates groups of all sizes with its robust meetings offerings, multiple food and beverage venues, a signature spa and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.
Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is seeking a Seasonal Pool Server Assistant. The Pool Server Assistant will work with a team of hospitality professionals, including servers, bartenders and pool staff to deliver superior food and beverage service to our guests. The busser will deliver food and beverages, help clear food and beverage items and help maintain the appearance of pool areas.

Salary for this position starts at: $14.50/hour. Omni Viking Lakes Hotel reserves the right to pay more or less than listed compensation scale based on factors not related to sex or race. Part Time Associates at Omni Viking Lakes are entitled to elect the following benefits: Dental, Vision and other healthcare benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Report for scheduled shifts on time and in assigned uniform.
  2. Maintain a professional, neat, well-groomed appearance.
  3. Responsible for assisting to bring food and beverages to the guests in the pool area and cabanas.
  4. Set up expo line - garnishes, condiments, serving utensils, and ice prior to the start of service. Keep items stocked throughout the shift.
  5. Break down and clean expo line at the end of the shift, including cleaning all work areas and materials used.
  6. Set up bus stations. Keep items stocked throughout the shift.

  8. Clear lounge chairs and tables of non-essential plates, silverware, cups, and pool towels during every course throughout the guest meal. Bring dirty plates and glassware to side stations or return to bar appropriately.
  9. Responsible for picking up liquor and food requisitions from on-site storeroom.
  10. Assist the servers in any way possible to ensure quality service.
  11. In the spirit of teamwork, assist the team in any capacity to ensure a positive working environment, clean and organized restaurant, and great guest service.
  12. Assist in enforcing guest-related pool policies and standards.
  13. Work safely and follow all Omni Safety and Loss Prevention standards.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous experience as a food server highly preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have great communication skills - the ability to engage with guests professionally, appropriately and courteously.Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
NECESSARY LICENSES/ CERTIFICATIONS
  • Responsible Beverage Certification (RBS) will be required prior to the start of employment.
  • Must complete CA Food Handler's Card training provided upon hire.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
