Description DEFINITION: Oversees all operations of Oak Lawn Municipal Golf Course Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL AND RELATED FUNCTION STATEMENTS: Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Plan, organize and direct all agronomical functions to ensure proper maintenance of golf course and grounds through proper mowing, fertilization, watering and chemical applications. Implement a maintenance program for all golf course equipment, golf cart fleet, buildings, irrigation systems, and any other equipment deemed necessary for the care of the property. Supervise and leads golf course staff including planning and organizing workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates leads the staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed.

Supervision of subordinate staff engaged in daily revenue and records management Supervises and administers the overall functions of the golf course; administers personnel and budget actions; prepares preliminary budgets and staff requirements Administers the rules and regulations established for the operation of the golf course; proposes and makes recommendations to existing rules and regulations. Requisitions supplies and equipment; coordinates tournaments and education classes; promotes interest in the use of the golf course facilities to the community. Monitor accounting procedures established by department and or city administration to ensure accuracy of daily cash reports Monitors all activity on the course and ensures the safe and proper use of facilities and equipment by the public Perform light cleanup of outdoor areas Maintains and ensures necessary janitorial equipment, office supplies, pro shop items, retail snack items are properly stocked and stored.

Perform additional duties and projects as apparent and/or assigned. Typical Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities which would typically be acquired through: High school diploma or equivalent Prefer a minimum of (3) three years experience in a progressive agronomy and turf grass management position. Golf course management and supervisory experience Considerable knowledge of recreational operations and maintenance work.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel and business management. Thorough knowledge of the methods used in the care and maintenance of golf courses. Thorough knowledge of the care and maintenance of grass greens.

Thorough knowledge of the uses and operating methods of equipment and tools used in golf course maintenance. Considerable knowledge of turf diseases and the chemicals and methods used to control them. Ability to plan, assigns, and supervise the work of subordinates engaged in golf course care and maintenance.

Ability to estimate materials, supplies, and equipment needed in golf course care and maintenance. Ability to keep records and prepare reports. Interact effectively with staff, club member's contractors, vendors and general public.

Regular evening and weekend work required Must have a valid Texas driver's license and driving record that meets and/or exceeds City standards Must demonstrate effective communication skills and have a public service attitude Supplemental Information PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires occasional considerable physical exertion, pushing and pulling of objects and materials, standing, lifting objects up to fifty pounds. Requires knowledge basic of computer functions, printer and other office and telecommunications equipment. Requires visual perception and ability to communicate orally.
