Job description

The Governors Club is a private 18 hole facility located in Brentwood Tennessee, we are currently

looking for dependable, reliable team players who take pride in what they do. Golf Course experience preferred but not necessary.


Responsibilities:

Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis. Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy duty and light duty mowing equipment. Keeps maintenance equipment fueled, oiled and inspected; and performs related tasks as required.

This position is expected to assist with the inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of all pieces of turf management equipment to the highest degree of dependability and performance, with the emphasis on precise quality of cut.


Essential Functions:

  • Assists with the appropriate scheduling of preventative maintenance, and prioritized repairs

  • Troubleshoots all equipment

  • Maintains a clean, well-organized shop with safety as the highest of priorities

  • Assists with golf course special projects

  • Maintains a strong knowledge of emergency procedures

  • Learns to operate all pieces of equipment

  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments when necessary

  • Communicates all pertinent information to the golf maintenance team

  • Maintains a professional appearance

  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times


Qualifications:

  • Two years' experience in a similar position preferred

  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet company driving standards

  • Must have a strong technical gasoline and diesel engine background

  • Excellent equipment operation skills

  • Must have excellent mechanical understanding and ability

  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays


While primarily an indoor job, must also be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, cold, sun & heat)General golf course day to day maintenance ie, bunker raking, course setup, mowing, string trimming, etc. Good benefits with a fun work environment at a very stable, upscale country club.
