PART TIME SALES ASSOCIATE

Role Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Performs duties in a retail store environment including suggestive selling and merchandising of Pepperidge Farm thrift bakery and biscuit items. Contributes to increasing net sales, bakery sales, and averagesaleper transaction while providing an outstanding level of customer service. Ensures that store runs efficiently and effectively in management's absence.

RESPONSIBILITIES/WORK ACTIVITIES

Build the Business / Productivity:

- Develop a strong working knowledge of all Pepperidge Farm products and procedures for handling

- Suggestive sell to every customer (offer the Behind-the-Counter Special)

- Complete tasks assigned with accuracy and attention to detail

Customer Service:

- Follow the Customer Service Process

- Engage customers in conversation and offer products

- Adhere to dress code

Merchandising Excellence:

-Maintainmerchandising strategy ensuring proper placement and neatness

- Ensure items are properly marked/priced

- Receive, rotate, and stock shipments

- Handle distributor returns

Store Operations:

- Protect company assets and follow security procedures

- Perform opening and closing procedures

-Operatecash register and handle cash

-Maintainstore cleanliness

BACKGROUND AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

- High School diploma or equivalent

- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions

- Basic math skills

- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Standing and walking up to 8 hours/day

-Lifting upto 50lbs

- Frequent bending, reaching, and squatting

- Work primarily indoors

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
