Job description

Cleveland Brothers, the largest Cat dealer in Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and western Maryland, has an immediate opportunity for a regional HR Partner in central and eastern PA.

Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc., your local Caterpillar dealership, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our growing team of established and successful professionals.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Partner to join our team supporting multiple branch locations (approximately 10) across central and eastern Pennsylvania.This role will provide the opportunity to do a variety of tactical and strategic work in an environment that encourages both independent initiative and collaborative teamwork.

In this role, you will partner with business leaders and general managers to influence and execute HR initiatives such as: talent management, succession planning, coaching & feedback, leadership development, and employee engagement and retention plans. You will also play a crucial role supporting managers in employee relations, performance and discipline, conflict resolution, and HR problem solving.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation as an HR Generalist/HR Operations and understands that the business strategy drives the HR strategy. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn the business, understand the challenges, and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver meaningful and impactful HR solutions. There will be an ongoing focus on the importance of accurate HR metrics, and how to provide data-driven recommendations that improve the overall employee experience and business performance.

Travel approximately 50%, mostly day travel to local branches with occasional travel to visit our headquarters in Murrysville, PA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Dedicated Manager Support:
    • Provide comprehensive HR support to managers in regional branch locations.
    • Regularly advises managers on HR related operations and has a supportive role in decision making.
    • Partner with managers to improve employee performance and address performance issues.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Address and resolve employee relations issues promptly and effectively.
    • Conduct investigations and manage workplace complaints appropriately.
    • Communicates challenging HR concepts and may influence others to consider a different point of view.
    • Mediate conflicts between employees and/or management to ensure a harmonious work environment.
  • Local Execution of Talent Processes:
    • Support the talent attraction and selection process, including interviewing critical roles and onboarding new employees.
    • Advise managers on the performance management process, including evaluations and disciplinary actions.
    • Partner with managers on talent reviews and succession planning processes.
    • Cultivate a culture of coaching & feedback.
  • Manager & Supervisor Training:
    • Train managers and supervisors on HR policies, processes, and best practices.
    • Provide ongoing support and development for leadership development.
    • Facilitate safety training and ensure compliance with safety policies.
  • HR projects:
    • Active participant on HR and business collaboration projects to drive our growth and transformation.
    • Adhere to timelines and do your share of the work (we are a high performing team!).
    • Lead projects when relevant and appropriate.
  • Regular travel to other branches is required (Up to 2 hour drive)

Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
    • Previous HR Generalist experience in employee relations, labor laws, and performance management in an industrial environment.
    • Proficiency in HR systems and integrated HCM deployment. ADP experience is strongly preferred.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Creativity and innovation in problem solving.
    • Demonstrated high performance in previous HR roles.
    • Strong collaborative skills and a kind, approachable demeanor.
    • Comfortable making decisions and handling complex HR assignments.
    • Adaptable to change and champions change to others.
    • Naturally possesses a positive "can do" attitude and growth mindset.
