Job description

Tax Manager - Partner Track

Location: Middletown, CT


We're partnered with an independent Connecticut CPA firm providing audit and tax services to not-for-profit, small business, individual, and trust/estate clients. The Tax Manager is actively involved in both the preparation and review of 1120S, 1065, and 1041 returns, along with complex 1040s, and manages a portfolio of client relationships.


What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and review 1120S, 1065, and 1041 returns, as well as complex individual (1040) returns
  • Manage a portfolio of client relationships as the primary point of contact
  • Plan and oversee tax engagements from kickoff through filing, including the September 15 and October 15 deadlines
  • Supervise, train, and develop staff-level accountants
  • Research tax issues and advise clients on planning strategies
  • Use UltraTax to manage the return preparation and review process


What You'll Need:

  • Active CPA license
  • Public accounting tax experience with hands-on preparation and review responsibility, including S-corp, partnership, and trust/estate returns
  • Experience with UltraTax or comparable tax preparation software
  • Willingness to work an extended schedule during tax season, Monday through Saturday
