Operations Manager
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility to ensure efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role manages operational processes, leads teams, and drives continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring company objectives and performance standards are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operational activities to ensure productivity, quality, and service goals are consistently met.
  • Lead and supervise supervisors, team leads, and hourly employees across operational departments.
  • Monitor staffing levels, labor utilization, and workflow planning to support operational demands.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Drive a strong safety culture by promoting safe work practices and addressing safety concerns proactively.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including HR, maintenance, transportation, inventory, and customer service.
  • Conduct employee coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Support employee development, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Assist with budgeting, labor planning, and operational forecasting.
  • Ensure proper inventory control, accuracy, and operational compliance.
  • Handle escalated operational issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support peak season planning and operational readiness initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, or supply chain management.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, labor management, and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and drive operational performance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operational systems such as WMS, TMS, or ERP platforms.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in logistics, distribution, 3PL, or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

About the Role
How you will contribute
  • Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
  • Interface with customer to ensure smooth -coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provides input on local conditions, identifies needs and receives direction on real-time staffing increases or decreases.
  • Enact contingency plans as needed; escalate and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to local and senior management, and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
  • Review ongoing performance results to targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, escalate as needed
  • Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards, act as a role model.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write documents using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and customer.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
