Job Summary
The Operations Manager will lead day-to-day distribution center operations across transportation, warehouse, logistics, inventory management, and fleet management teams. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, streamlining inventory management processes, overseeing logistics and fleet operations, developing leaders, and building scalable systems that support long-term growth. The ideal candidate combines strong floor leadership with strategic thinking, using data, Lean principles, and cross-functional influence to improve performance, optimize inventory control, enhance logistics efficiency, and shape future-state operations.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
• Lead end-to-end operational excellence initiatives, including process standardization, automation, digital transformation, and sustained 5S disciplines to promote workplace organization and efficiency, all of which directly enhance the customer experience by ensuring reliable, timely, and high-quality service delivery.
• Deliver strong, consistent results across safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while ensuring inventory accuracy and optimizing logistics routing for improved supply chain performance-contributing to greater customer satisfaction.
• Drive waste elimination, capacity improvement, and productivity gains through continuous improvement initiatives, accurate inventory management, and efficient logistics routing strategies.
• Maintain exceptional facility standards around organization, cleanliness, and visual management by applying 5S principles and leveraging inventory and logistics best practices.
People & Culture
• Build an associate-led culture grounded in Lean principles, continuous improvement, and servant leadership.
• Spend significant time observing work, coaching leaders, and developing associates.
• Build leadership bench strength through structured development, succession planning, and promotion from within.
• Create high engagement, accountability, and pride of ownership across the operation.
Strategic & Enterprise Impact
• Translate enterprise objectives into site-level execution plans.
• Identify systemic gaps and design solutions that scale beyond a single location.
