Product Development Engineer - Multiple U.S. LocationsTeam Overview

Our Product Development teams are at the center of innovation-designing, improving, and qualifying the cable technologies that power energy grids, telecommunications networks, infrastructure, and industrial applications.

We are hiring Product Development Engineers across multiple U.S. locations. These roles are ideal for engineers who enjoy blending handson technical work with crossfunctional collaboration. You'll partner with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to design new products, improve existing ones, support plant trials, and ensure our solutions meet performance, cost, and market requirements.

Role Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new cable products, components, and materials to meet performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support full product development cycles, including concept creation, design calculations, prototype builds, qualification plans, and testing.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support plant trials, troubleshoot issues, and optimize product/process performance.

  • Analyze test data, evaluate product performance, and prepare technical documentation such as specifications, drawings, and qualification reports.

  • Partner with product management and commercial teams to identify market needs, evaluate customer requirements, and support new product introductions.

  • Participate in costreduction initiatives, designtocost activities, and continuous improvement projects.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (UL, CSA, ICEA, IEEE, etc.) and support certification activities.

  • Work crossfunctionally with R&D, quality, operations, and materials engineering to drive product improvements and resolve technical challenges.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Chemical, or related field).

  • Handson experience in product development, design, testing, or manufacturing engineering.

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams.

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in cable, wire, polymers, or industrial manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with industry standards (UL, CSA, ICEA, IEEE) or product certification processes.

  • Experience supporting plant trials, process troubleshooting, or designtocost initiatives.

  • Background in materials, extrusion, compounding, or mechanical performance testing.

  • Experience with CAD tools, statistical analysis, or design of experiments (DOE).
