Job description

As a Direct Caregiver with FirstLight Home Care of Asheville, you will help build meaningful relationships and improve the quality of life for our clients, their families, and our caregivers. 

Your role will be as a direct caregiver assisting the client with ADL/IADL needs and providing companionship and a compassionate heart for the client and family.

***Must be available to work at least one weekend a month***

Your overall goals will be to help caregivers, clients and their families enjoy life by assisting them with performing daily activities and offering companionship. Your compassion and diligence will bring joy, warmth, and more independence into the lives of the people you work with.

Responsibilities
  • Be a scheduled caregiver during set hours and some weekends as needed for a specific client.
  • Ability and desire to accept additional assignments.
  • Mentoring and training other caregivers.
  • Work closely with our Nurses and assist them with Client care needs.
  • Companionship and conversation.
  • Preparing and serving meals.
  • Help with grooming, bathing, and other personal care needs (ADL)
  • Light housekeeping and errands
  • Providing a safe and comfortable environment so individuals can live at home longer
