Santé is hiring a Director of Development to grow support for behavioral health and crisis services across Maryland.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on fundraising leader who can build strategy, grow relationships, and help expand philanthropic support for a mission that matters.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Develop and execute a multi-year fundraising strategy across government, foundation, corporate, individual, and planned giving sources. 
  • Build Santé’s culture of philanthropy across staff, Board, external supporters.
  • Establish the policies, systems, and reporting needed to support a growing development operation.
  • Build and lead the development function, including any development staff and management of external development consultants.
  • Write compelling grant proposals, donor appeals, sponsorship pitches, and stewardship communications.
  • Partner with the CEO, leadership team, and Board on donor engagement and stewardship.
  • Build relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations across Maryland.

You’ll be a strong fit if you bring:

  • 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience.
  • Direct grant writing experience and cultivation of major gifts.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundation funders.
  • Experience contributing to building or growing a development program.
  • Comfortable building a development function from the early-stage, including establishing systems, processes, and donor cultivation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate organization strategy into a compelling case for support.
  • Connection to behavioral health, healthcare, or human services missions preferred.
