Position: Temporary (6 weeks) Groundskeeper 1, Full-time (8hrs a day, 5 days a week)
Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of the Temp Groundskeeper 1 position is to maintain the horticulture areas surrounding the school district buildings and athletic areas and fields.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to operate and maintain power equipment, including gang mowers, tractors, light trucks, and hedge shears
  • Ability to establish and maintain turf for lawns and athletic fields
  • Ability to landscape and plant materials in an attractive manner
  • Knowledge of computer operations
  • Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees, staff and students
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions with limited supervision

Other Skills and Requirements:
  • Criminal justice fingerprint clearance required
  • Possession of a current Oregon Driver's License issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles

Experience:
  • Three years of experience in grounds maintenance for high use areas, preferred.

  • Perform duties safely, while observing prescribed safety methods, procedures and policies of the Facility Operations Department.
  • Prioritize tasks and take initiative to independently complete and/or foresee the need to complete a project or task.
  • Maintain regular and dependable attendance, in accordance with the District's standard of attendance.
