Job description

We are looking for a Sr Solutions Architect to join our team in Houston, Texas for a Contract position. This role will lead the design and delivery of resilient infrastructure and network solutions across server, cloud, storage, and security environments. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with enterprise platforms and can translate technical requirements into scalable, well-governed architecture decisions.


Responsibilities:

• Design and guide implementation of enterprise network and infrastructure architectures spanning routing, switching, wireless, segmentation, and secure connectivity.

• Provide technical leadership for Windows Server, Linux, and mixed-platform environments, supporting reliable deployment and administration practices.

• Develop solution designs for on-premises and cloud-hosted systems, including Microsoft Azure and other infrastructure-as-a-service platforms where appropriate.

• Evaluate and integrate core technologies such as virtualization, storage, load balancing, and server hardware to support performance, scalability, and availability goals.

• Establish operational standards for infrastructure management, including rack organization, power utilization, cooling considerations, and physical security controls.

• Create and maintain automation scripts for administration, auditing, and operational efficiency using tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Linux shell scripting.

• Support architecture decisions related to endpoint management, patching, vulnerability remediation, and capacity planning across enterprise environments.

• Partner with stakeholders to carry solutions from design through deployment, ensuring systems are properly sized, documented, and aligned with business needs.

• Contribute expertise in collaboration and productivity platforms, including administration of Microsoft 365 and related messaging environments when needed.Houston, Texa

• Recent hands-on experience designing, deploying, or administering Windows Server and Linux environments in enterprise settings.
• Strong background in enterprise networking, including architecture, implementation, and support of core network services and secure infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Unix variants and macOS, with prior administration experience considered beneficial.
• Familiarity with major enterprise networking and security vendors, such as Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or comparable platforms.
• Experience with virtualization, server hardware, and enterprise storage technologies, including common hypervisors and modern storage connectivity methods.
• Proficiency in scripting for infrastructure operations, with practical experience in PowerShell, Python, or shell scripting.
• Understanding of infrastructure management best practices, performance analysis, capacity planning, and server or virtual machine optimization.
• Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration; experience with Exchange or Google Workspace is a plus.
