Job description

The Tier 3 Network Engineer will serve as a senior technical resource within our engineering team, responsible for the design, implementation, and advanced troubleshooting of complex network solutions. This individual must have extensive hands‑on experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco/Meraki technologies, and be comfortable interfacing directly with both technical teams and executive leadership (including C‑level stakeholders).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions using Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco Meraki platforms.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex network issues escalated from Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Support.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting for a wide range of network environments including firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, switching, and wireless networks.
  • Perform network assessments, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Develop and document network architecture and detailed implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with project managers and client stakeholders, including presenting technical solutions to C‑Suite executives in a clear, business-oriented manner.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to critical incidents as needed.
  • Mentor junior engineers and assist in internal knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering roles, preferably in an MSP or service provider environment.
  • Strong expertise in Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer), Palo Alto Networks (NGFW, Panorama, Prisma, Strata), and Cisco/Meraki (ASA, ASR, MX, MR, MS).
  • Experience designing and deploying secure network solutions for SMBs and mid‑market enterprises.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLANs, VPNs, NAT, and firewalls.
  • Experience with SD-WAN, cloud networking (Azure/AWS), and multi‑site deployments.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve high-impact network issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to translate technical jargon for business audiences.
  • Comfortable presenting technical solutions and strategy to C‑level executives.
  • Relevant certifications are strongly preferred (e.g., Fortinet NSE4+, PCNSE, CCNP, Meraki CMNA/ECMS).
