Job description

Please note this role is a part-time, seasonal position that will end in April of 2027

Job Summary

The Part Time Motion Graphics Designer will assist in the graphic animation and multi-media content production for VSG Productions, Lightning Vision Productions, and, internal and external Benchmark International Arena displays. This includes all Tampa Bay Lightning home games, official team productions, assorted Vinik Sports Group properties, and occasional third party requests for these services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Creation, editing and production of Lightning Vision graphic animations as directed - either as fully inclusive features and or as elements to be incorporated by other editors/producers.
    • Major focus is the design and creation of much of the animated content showcased on Lightning Vision center hung display, Daktronics system LED displays; external Digital Signage, Concourse Video Walls and multi-monitor displays; IPTV system, Projection Systems, Plaza Projector, and digital/streamed team-branded content and productions.
    • Also design and animate graphics for VSG organizational business entities, as requested.
    • Creatively collaborate with Sponsorship and Marketing on animation, messaging, graphic "look and feel" campaign consistency.
  • Work with the video team to incorporate traditional video elements (videography, editing, etc.) into above work for production of features, commercials and other projects as required and time allows.

  • Approximate number of events worked per year: Varies - no more than 40 games on average.
Qualifications
  • A digital demo reel or link to professional work examples is required
  • College education, equivalent to a bachelor's degree, plus a minimum of one (1) year training/schooling in motion graphics/animation creation
  • Solid knowledge and a minimum of 2 years' experience with the following software: Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro editing software
  • Basic growth-oriented knowledge of 3-D software a plus (Cinema 4D, Maya, etc.)
  • Basic previous admin experience; intermediate skills in Microsoft Office
  • A growing knowledge of AI tools and programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive work relationships with co-workers, managers and executives
  • Commitment to work scheduled event days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Commitment to work long-hour stretches - especially during periods of heavy pre-production and with short-turnaround projects
Working conditions
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in office and arena environment that can be exciting, loud and distracting.
  • This is an onsite role.
  • Ability to work prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift/carry/move up to 25lbs.
  • Ability to work in cold/hot indoors and outdoors temperatures.
  • Ability to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or people.
  • Ability to move comfortably throughout the arena with minimal accommodations.
