Job description

Midwest Recovery Centers is hiring for a Full Time Day Shift RN or LPN for our Detox Residential Facility!

Shift: 6 AM-6 PM

Midwest Recovery Centers provides quality treatment to the community of Kansas City, specializing in treatment for substance use disorders focusing on drug and alcohol dependence and addiction. We are looking for caring and benevolent nurses to care for our patients and help facilitate their recovery, whether from substances or mental health crises.

About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse in our Residential Mental Health and Detox facilities, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of individuals undergoing detoxification and rehabilitation. Your primary responsibility will be to assess patient needs and implement appropriate nursing interventions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes. Additionally, you will provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. Ultimately, your expertise and compassionate care will significantly contribute to the overall success of our treatment programs and the health of our patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree.
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in detox or rehabilitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in addiction nursing or related specialty
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in addiction treatment and recovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and mental health status.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and recovery processes.
  • Document patient care activities and withdrawal scoring accurately and timely in compliance with regulatory standards.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong clinical assessment abilities, which are essential for evaluating patient needs and communicating these to the Providers and Primary Therapists. Excellent communication skills are vital for educating patients and collaborating with the healthcare team, ensuring that everyone is aligned in their approach to care. Time management and organizational skills will be utilized daily to prioritize patient care tasks and maintain accurate documentation. Additionally, critical thinking skills will be necessary for making informed decisions regarding patient interventions and adjustments to care plans. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of addiction treatment practices and/or mental health care, will enhance your ability to provide specialized care and support to patients in recovery.
