Megaplex Theatres is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Line Cook Team Lead for our new Cinema Entertainment Center (CEC) in Downtown Daybreak! This exciting venue features theatre exhibition, bowling, a restaurant, and an arcade, located adjacent to the Ballpark at America First Square, home of the Salt Lake Bees.

What You'll Do:

As a Line Cook Team Lead, you'll assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing the day to day operation of the kitchen and leading Line Cooks in the successful completion of their tasks. This includes responsibilities like helping Line Cooks prepare delicious, high-quality and timely menu items for guests. The Team Lead must be goal driven and understand the importance of per caps, food costs, and increasing the profitability of the theatre. They are responsible for meeting and exceeding Health Code requirements and expectations for the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen.

Responsibilities Overview:

Act as a representative of Megaplex at all times, in attitude, demeanor, and willingness to provide quality guest service

  • Enforce all company policies, standards and procedures 
  • Ensure that employees adhere to the proper uniform and appearance standards
  • Ensure that all guests are receiving excellent service
  • Resolve complaints from guests in a polite, friendly manner
  • Promote cooperative effort, positive team spirit, and good morale amongst employees
  • Supervise and manage employees, including performing corrective actions and evaluations

What You'll Need to Bring to the Show:

  • 1 -2 years’ experience in a guest-service related field preferred
  • Experience working in a high-volume kitchen
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred 
  • Current Food Handler’s Permit
  • Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions
  • Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
  • Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the properties and safety standards of cleaning chemicals
  • Excellent organizational, motivational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to adjust staffing levels to business needs
  • Ability to calm and handle dissatisfied guests through professional and courteous dialog
  • Ability to meet company standards in a criminal background check

The Pay:

  • Starting wage at $18-$21/hour

Showtime Hours:

  • Our theatre hours can run from 6 am to 2 am, with morning shifts typically starting between 8 am and 10 am and ending around 5 pm or 6 pm. Evening shifts usually start between 3 pm and 6 pm, and you might be working until midnight or even 2 am on those busy nights (like Discount Tuesdays!).
