Megaplex is seeking passionate and detail-oriented Line Cooks for our new Cinema Entertainment Center (CEC) in Downtown Daybreak! This exciting venue features theatre exhibition, bowling, a new scratch kitchen restaurant, and an arcade, located adjacent to the Ballpark at America First Square, home of the Salt Lake Bees.

What You'll Do:
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing delicious, high-quality and timely menu items for our Guests. Line Cooks create superior products and an atmosphere of friendliness, consistency, and fun in the kitchen and restaurant.
Responsibilities Overview:
  • Quickly and accurately prepare delicious meals for our Guests.
  • Prep to specification and prep level for the shift.
  • Set up workstation using detailed schematic for organization and amounts of product.
  • Select appropriate knives, hand tools, utensils and equipment to portion, cut, slice, broil, roast, carve, skewer and garnish product.
  • Regularly inspect product specification, level, freshness and taste.
  • Provide a guest "chit" for each transaction.
  • Rotate, label and date all food products and inform management about any product that has expired. Document appropriately.
  • Stock all products in refrigerators, on shelves and in freezers per schematic.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all food menus and proactive in staying current on all new menu items and specials.
  • Maintain above average concern for both personal and professional cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ensure all equipment is in complete working order. Report any issues to Management immediately.
  • Monitor the temperature of water and ensure the temperature meets safety standards and guidelines.
  • Maintain an above standard level of cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need to Bring to the Show:
  • 1 -2 years' experience in a guest-service related field preferred
  • Minimum 1-year work experience in high-volume kitchen
  • Be a team player with the willingness and ability to assist as needed in other departments
  • Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions
  • Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation
  • Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes
  • Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
  • Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work while consistently walking, standing, and twisting.
  • Willingness to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (we're open 365 days a year, and the show goes on!).

The Pay:
$14-19/hour, depending on experience.
