Job description

KJ is seeking an Asset Management professional to join our Management Consulting Team with the primary responsibility of leading projects and programs in Colorado.  This role offers an exciting opportunity to focus on business growth, project delivery leadership, and mentorship of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset Management Consulting:
    • Support the development and implementation of asset management plans and programs.  This includes conducting asset inventories, calculating life-cycle costs, setting service levels, prioritizing repair & replacement projects, and executing long-term financial planning. Your goal would be to ensure efficient utilization, maintenance, and sustainability of organizational assets.
    • Support efforts in business development, including client interaction, collaboration with marketing staff, proposal preparation, and participation in interview teams.
    • Support the development of effective utility management studies (EUM), including gap analysis, strategy development, and execution support.
    • Provide advisory services related to the selection, implementation, and long-term use of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS software).
    • Apply reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and reliability-centered design (RCD) principles in the formation of maintenance strategies.
    • Supervise and support junior staff in their development.
    • Travel as needed for client meetings, project site visits, conference attendance, etc.
  • Project Management:
    • Perform project management activities, including preparing and negotiating professional services contracts, managing the quality and financial performance of projects, coordinating with subconsultants, and identifying and resolving budget and schedule issues.
    • Build, supervise, and mentor project teams and foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Geography, Management Information Systems, Environmental Science, or similar
  • 10+ years of combined experience in consulting with municipal utilities or working at a municipal utility.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the water/wastewater industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service and interact positively with clients.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong communication skills.
  • Certification in one or more of the following: Professional Engineer (PE), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Institute of Asset Management Certification (IAM).

Salary range for this position is expected to be between $130,000 and $175,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, and geographic location.
