Purpose of Position:


Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Planning Specialist.


The Maintenance Planning Specialist is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring maintenance activities across the Plover facility. This position supports maintenance operations by managing preventive maintenance programs, maintenance work orders, contractor activities, equipment records, asset management data, and maintenance planning systems to ensure equipment reliability, food safety compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.


The Maintenance Planning Specialist partners closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities, optimize equipment performance, maintain accurate maintenance records, and support long-term asset reliability. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including asset structures, preventive maintenance plans, work centers, maintenance task lists, equipment Bills of Material (BOMs), and maintenance reporting.


Performance is measured through schedule compliance, preventive maintenance effectiveness, equipment reliability, maintenance cost control, maintenance backlog management, contractor coordination, and support of operational objectives.


Accountabilities:


Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, contractor activities, and project-related work.
  • Create, maintain, and manage maintenance work orders through the CMMS system.
  • Track emergency and corrective maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs and maintenance strategies.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and maintenance effectiveness through trend analysis and reliability reviews.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and outside contractors.
  • Develop maintenance schedules that minimize operational disruption while maximizing equipment reliability.
  • Maintain equipment asset records, equipment locations, work centers, maintenance documentation, and asset hierarchies.
  • Create and maintain preventive maintenance plans, maintenance task lists, equipment BOMs, and maintenance standards within the CMMS.
  • Support equipment upgrades, new equipment implementation, asset migrations, and equipment lifecycle management activities.

Maintenance Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate reports regarding maintenance backlog, schedule compliance, manpower utilization, maintenance spending, and key performance indicators.
  • Monitor maintenance spending and support maintenance budget forecasting activities.
  • Analyze maintenance performance data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in site audits, food safety inspections, quality reviews, and corrective action activities.

Food Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Support compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance programs support safe, reliable, and sanitary equipment operation.
  • Partner with Operations and Quality teams to maintain equipment performance and food safety standards.
  • Support implementation of engineering, operational, and maintenance improvement projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong maintenance planning and scheduling experience.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability principles.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate work across multiple departments and contractors.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, and industrial safety requirements.
  • Experience within food manufacturing operations.
  • Reliability or maintenance planning certification.
  • Experience supporting capital projects and equipment installations.
  • Experience developing preventive maintenance programs and asset management strategies.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
