While Manager Linkedin Fake focuses on online profile authenticity, Marketing Managers handle strategic marketing campaigns. Both roles involve digital presence, but their core functions and credentials differ significantly.

Why do people post fake jobs on LinkedIn?

People post fake jobs on LinkedIn to scam job seekers, collect personal information, or promote fraudulent schemes. These postings often appear legitimate but lack real company details or contact information, making it important for job seekers to verify job authenticity before applying.

Can you get fake job offers on LinkedIn?

Fake job offers can appear on LinkedIn, often created by scammers to deceive users. Job seekers should verify offers through official company channels and be cautious of suspicious messages or requests for personal information. Authentic job opportunities typically come from verified profiles and reputable companies.

How to identify ghost jobs on LinkedIn?

To identify ghost jobs on LinkedIn, look for listings with vague descriptions, no company information, or unrealistic requirements. Check if the job posting has been up for a long time without updates, and verify the company's profile to ensure legitimacy. These signs can indicate a fake or outdated listing, common in scam job postings or fake profiles.

How can you tell a scammer on LinkedIn?

A manager on LinkedIn can identify scammers by checking for incomplete or inconsistent profiles, suspiciously high offers, poor grammar, and requests for personal or financial information early in conversations. Genuine professionals typically have detailed profiles, verified connections, and clear communication. Always verify profiles through mutual connections or official company websites before engaging further.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever's recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.

What can I do?

If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.

Unilever does not accept responsibility or liability for any candidates who are financially impacted by recruitment fraud. Your vigilance is key!
