SoftBank Robotics America (SBRA), a member of the SoftBank Group, develops and deploys intelligent robotics solutions at the intersection of artificial intelligence, automation, and real-world business applications. The Superintendent serves as the on-site construction leader responsible for managing daily field operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring safe, efficient execution of construction activities. This individual will be the boots-on-the-ground leader, driving schedule performance, quality, safety, and productivity across complex industrial and mission-critical construction projects.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving field challenges, and can effectively lead subcontractors and site teams to successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Field Leadership & Construction Execution
Lead day-to-day construction activities from site mobilization through project completion. Coordinate field operations to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule. Drive accountability across subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel. Monitor daily progress and proactively address schedule impacts or field challenges. Conduct regular site walks to verify quality, safety, and production standards.
Subcontractor Management Manage and coordinate subcontractors across multiple trades. Ensure compliance with project schedules, quality requirements, and safety expectations. Facilitate daily and weekly coordination meetings with field teams. Resolve field conflicts and maintain project momentum.
Safety & Quality Champion a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Partner with safety teams to identify and mitigate risks. Ensure all work meets project specifications and quality standards. Participate in inspections, punch lists, and project turnover activities.
Planning & Coordination Assist with short-term and long-term look-ahead planning. Coordinate labor, equipment, and material resources to support project milestones. Collaborate with project management, engineering, procurement, and client teams. Identify risks early and communicate solutions to project leadership.
Reporting & Communication Provide regular updates on project progress, field issues, manpower, and schedule performance. Maintain accurate project documentation and daily reports. Support leadership with field-based insights and recommendations.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of construction experience, including 5+ years in a Superintendent role.
  • Experience leading field operations on large-scale industrial, mission-critical, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, or data center projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple trades and maintain project schedules.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, semiconductor, energy, or large industrial construction projects.
  • Experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and modern construction methodologies.
  • Background working for major EPC, general contracting, or industrial construction organizations.
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.

Work Environment
  • Based in Ohio.
  • Primarily on-site role with limited remote work.
  • Ability to work extended hours as project demands require.
