PURPOSE:
The Manager for Data and Application Services is responsible for designing, developing, and modifying the data management infrastructure to expedite data analysis and reporting for NSSEO. The Manager will implement policies and guidelines for data management and develop standard operating procedures for data handling and archiving.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
















  Build, coordinate, manage, support, and monitor all district databases and applications, including student information, food services, transportation, IEP management, assessment, and related systems, to ensure efficient operations. 

  Coordinate NSSEO child count and the SIS database. 

  Modify existing databases and database management systems as needed. 

  Set up and coordinate databases for state and local assessments, including but not limited to IAR, ISA, DLM, ACCESS, PSAT, SAT, NWEA, KIDS, FastBridge, and others. 

  Ensure necessary data is uploaded and/or communicated to resident school districts to meet required reporting tasks and ISBE reporting timelines. 

  Ensure appropriate data security measures are established and enacted to protect student and staff data. 

  Support the adoption and rollout of new software or applications within the District, including integration with the SIS and other existing data sources. 

  Provide ongoing support and technical assistance to NSSEO staff on the use of databases and applications supporting district, state, and federal requirements. 

  Collaborate with the Technology Coordinator and Network Administrator on existing and new initiatives, planning efforts, and decisions that impact data and technology services. 

  Assist with setup, data management, and report design 

  Facilitate an office atmosphere of collaboration, positive communication, and excellent customer service to programs and staff. 

  Assume responsibility for special projects as assigned. 

  Support NSSEO policy, NSSEO and Governing Board goals and objectives, and The School Code of Illinois.   

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics or equivalent experience



Experience and expertise in database management, design and implementation

Knowledge of Access Database, SQL, Google Data Studio preferred

Strong Excel skills/Google Sheets Skills

Strong project management and analytical skills

Ability to make decisions and problem solve in accordance with established procedures

Ability to adapt to changing processes and technologies

Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret directions and communicate effectively with students and staff

Familiarity with online platforms such as TeacherEase, ParentSquare, IWAS, Tyler IV, and EmbraceIEP is preferred
