Shipping Associate
Location: Spring Valley, IL
Pay: $18.50 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Shipping Associate to join our warehouse team in Spring Valley. This role is responsible for accurately pulling orders, preparing shipments, and assisting with packaging and palletizing products to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers.
The ideal candidate will have prior forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in a warehouse environment.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret order sheets to accurately pull materials and quantities.
  • Assist the shipping team with re-boxing and re-palletizing parts as needed.
  • Verify products and quantities prior to shipment.
  • Apply correct shipping labels and documentation to outgoing orders.
  • Ensure shipments are loaded onto the appropriate trucks.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness within the shipping area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse and shipping personnel to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications
  • Prior forklift experience required.
  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or order-picking experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow order sheets and shipping instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and reach into Gaylords to retrieve metal parts.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and move products throughout the workday.
  • Approximately 99% of parts handled weigh less than 30 pounds, with many items weighing significantly less.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding warehouse work in a fast-paced environment.
