Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, proactive, and driven Instructional Designer to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of engaging learning experiences across the organization. This individual will play a critical role in supporting employee onboarding, clinical education, leadership development, and operational excellence by creating innovative, learner-centered training solutions.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong instructional design expertise, and is comfortable leveraging technology to develop impactful learning experiences. This role partners closely with subject matter experts, operational leaders, and the Learning & Development team to translate complex information into engaging instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning content that drives employee performance and supports organizational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement instructor-led, virtual, eLearning, and blended learning programs using adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, or similar).
  • Partner with leadership, operational teams, and subject matter experts to conduct learning needs assessments and develop scalable training solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Create engaging learning materials, including facilitator guides, learner workbooks, job aids, assessments, videos, eLearning modules, and polished PowerPoint presentations.
  • Develop and maintain standardized onboarding curricula for corporate and practice-based roles.
  • Manage and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS), including course creation, uploads, testing, reporting, learner tracking, and optimization of the user experience.
  • Facilitate both virtual and in-person training sessions, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and learner engagement.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, learner feedback, and performance metrics, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and update existing training content to ensure accuracy, consistency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with operational changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize learning initiatives and manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure all learning content aligns with QualDerm branding, organizational standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Stay current on instructional design trends, learning technologies, and best practices in adult education and healthcare training.
  • Support onboarding initiatives and ongoing professional development programs that enhance employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Assist with additional Learning & Development initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, Learning & Development, curriculum development, or corporate training required.
  • Experience developing eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar authoring tools preferred.
  • Strong experience managing and utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) is required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint with the ability to create polished, engaging presentations.
  • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to develop learning solutions.
  • Healthcare or medical practice experience, particularly supporting Medical Assistants (MAs) or clinical teams, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Canvas or similar learning platforms is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows and healthcare training needs is a plus.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
