Reports to: Training Manager / Learning & Development Director (75% Travel Required)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Training Specialist to design, deliver, and evaluate engaging training programs for employees, clients, or partners. This hybrid role combines remote work flexibility with significant travel (approximately 50%) to conduct in-person training sessions, workshops, onboarding, and support at various locations. The ideal candidate excels at facilitating virtual and on-site sessions, manages all aspects of training logistics, and demonstrates strong proficiency in leveraging software, hardware, and emerging technologies to enhance learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments in collaboration with department leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to identify skill gaps and development opportunities.
  • Design, develop, and update training materials, curricula, presentations, job aids, e-learning modules, and other resources using tools such as Synthesia AI, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
  • Co-deliver high-impact training sessions, including instructor-led workshops, online courses, and hands-on simulations both remotely and in-person at store sites or training facilities.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time (domestic, with occasional overnight stays) to facilitate on-site training, provide field support, observe performance, and deliver customized programs.
  • Handle full logistics for in-person and online trainings, including scheduling sessions, managing participant registrations, coordinating venues/meeting rooms, arranging travel and accommodations (when applicable), preparing and shipping/distributing training materials, and ensuring timely setup of equipment and technology.
  • Manage technological aspects of training delivery, including setup and troubleshooting of hardware (e.g., laptops, projectors, audio/visual systems, interactive whiteboards) and software (e.g., Google Meets, learning platforms); resolve technical issues during sessions to minimize disruptions.
  • Stay current with technological advancements in training tools, software, hardware, and instructional technologies; integrate emerging tools (e.g., AI-enhanced learning platforms, advanced LMS features) to improve program effectiveness and engagement.
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding and orientation for new hires or new system rollouts, ensuring knowledge transfer and quick productivity ramp-up.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback surveys, performance metrics, and follow-up observations; recommend improvements and adjustments to programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and outcomes in the Learning Management System (LMS) or other tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align training initiatives with organizational goals and business needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Must be able to travel up to 75%
  • 3+ years of experience in training, facilitation, instructional design, or a related role (corporate training, employee development, or client-facing preferred).
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging training in both virtual/remote and in-person environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% (including overnight stays, occasional weekends if needed); valid driver's license and passport (if international travel applies).
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to adapt content for diverse audiences and learning styles.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite hands-on experience with e-learning authoring tools, LMS platforms, virtual meeting software, and basic AV/hardware setup and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating training logistics, including scheduling, venue coordination, material preparation, and technical setup for both in-person and virtual sessions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity, engagement, and professionalism.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively in a remote/hybrid setting with travel and logistical demands.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in team environments.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, Business, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certification in training/development (e.g., ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development, CPTD, or similar) or instructional technology.
  • Experience in a specific industry (e.g., technology, healthcare, sales, manufacturing) or with technical/product training involving software/hardware.
  • Familiarity with adult learning theories (e.g., ADDIE model, Kirkpatrick evaluation) and emerging tech in L&D (e.g., AI tools, gamification platforms).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for common training tech issues (e.g., connectivity, audio/video, device compatibility).
  • Experience with event/logistics coordination tools (e.g. registration platforms) or travel management systems.

Compensation: $55,000 to $65,000 OTE
